This proved to be a great influence in the creation offeelunique.com and continues to show itself through her carefulselection of spa product ranges on offer on the new website, which shehas set up with her husband, Lawrence.
The website reflects the Western attitude towards a visit to a spabeing a luxurious experience, combined with Eastern traditions and anemphasis on spiritual harmony and natural beauty treatments.
A dual national, Frankie was born in Australia but grew up inseveral countries, including Nigeria and Brunei, due to her father’sjob advising governments on tropical agriculture.
After school, she went to London where she studied history of artbefore working at the Tate and the Philharmonia Orchestra. She thenspent eight months in Brunei visiting family and working as a marketingmanager for a private hospital - an experience which gave her aninsight into the business of ‘well-being’ and preventative healthcare.
Inspired, Frankie returned to London to study alternative medicine. However, when she secured the job of fund raising manager for Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, she moved to the Island to be with Lawrence, they married and now have a two-year-old son and a second child on the way.
After two years at Durrell, she left on maternity leave and becameincreasingly involved in the planning of Lawrence’s latest businessventure, The Club Hotel & Spa.Together, Lawrence and Frankie carried out research for the hotel’sSpa, and she played a major role in deciding what therapies would be onoffer and which products would be used.
In researching the different products, Frankie tried samples at homeand, following the birth of her first child, she realised there was amarket for people who enjoyed the luxury of a spa visit and wished torecreate the experience in their own home. The idea of feelunique.comwas born and as well as selling the Spa’s products, it also sellsluxury items used in boutique hotels such as organic towels, robes and the finest Egyptian bed linen.
Frankie was instrumental in the design of the website, wanting it tobe as user-friendly and visually attractive as possible and isconstantly seeking new products to expand the spa ranges on offer. Aswell as her unique family background and upbringing, she says herchoices have also been influenced by her pregnancies, which have madeher more aware of the importance of maintaining good health, havingregular spa treatments and using naturally-based products.
When she is not working on Feel Unique or looking after her son,William, Frankie regularly practices yoga and enjoys oil painting.
